Lynbrook Schools Graded by New York State

Education department releases statistics on Regents exams and graduation rates.

The Lynbrook School District has received its 2009-10 report card from the state education department, and judging by the statistics in the document, the district has done its job well since 2008-09.

Student enrollment in Lynbrook schools declined slightly, from 3008 in 2008-09 to 2949 in 2009-10. Class sizes remained constant, with only a couple of courses seeing an increase or decrease of a student or two.

Ninety-seven percent of Lynbrook High School's 2009-10 graduates went on to either a four-year or two-year college, up from 95 percent the previous school year. Four students did not complete high school; the number was the same the previous year.

Lynbrook students' Regents exams scores were similar to those in 2008-09, with one exception: Math B scores were significantly down. Seventy-five percent of students scored 55 or above and no student scored 85 or higher, compared with the previous year, when 86 percent of students scored 55 or above and 29 percent scored 85 or above.

Ninety-seven percent of graduating students in the district received a Regents diploma, up from 96 percent in 2008-09.
