Lynbrook Student Wins State Reflections Honors

The student was selected as a state winner in the musical composition category.

Koby Lazar, a sixth grader at Lynbrook South Middle School, was selected as a state winner in the musical composition category of the National PTA Reflections Program.

The theme of the competition this year was "Diversity Means ..." Lazar’s winning composition, written for oboe, marimbas and wind chimes, is titled “Diverse Inspiration.”

"This is a notable achievement," said Joseph Pallotta, District Director of Fine and Performing Arts. "I believe this is the first time that a Lynbrook student has won Reflections honors at the state level in this category."

Lazar's musical composition will be on display at the New York State PTA Convention in Saratoga from Nov. 16-18, 2012.

The National PTA Reflections Program is one of the largest student arts recognition programs in the nation. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students participate throughout the country.
