Lynbrook Students Visit Doors of Paradise

North Middle School seventh-graders in Joanne Landfield’s Italian class recently completed a study of Florence, Italy and Italian Renaissance artists. 

Students created travel brochures highlighting places to visit in Florence, including the famous Doors of Paradise created by Lorenzo Ghiberti in 1452 for the Baptistery of St. John in Florence.

Since they couldn't take a trip to Italy, students did the next best thing – they visited the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hicksville, which features one of only three replicas of the famous doors in the world.
