The Lynbrook Teachers Association earlier this month was awarded the New York State United Teaches Community Service award for the second consecutive year for consistently demonstrating a belief in community service.
In 2012, the Lynbrook Teachers Association they collected and distributed donation items for victims of Superstorm Sandy.
They also contributed to Project Hotshots, which donates more than 1,500 backpacks and schools supplies to kids in need.
The organization was a proud sponsor of the Lynbrook Fly with the Owls Run/Walk and also awarded $7,025 in student scholarships.
