Donna Banek, a seventh-grade science teacher at Howard T. Herber Middle School in the Malverne School District has been honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award – Intermediate Level by the Science Teachers Association of New York State.
STANYS is an organization that has served science teachers throughout the state for more than 100 years. Banek was chosen for the award based upon her exemplary teaching practices and professional involvement, as well as an application she submitted to the organization detailing her contributions to the field of science teaching.
She will be honored with the award at a special ceremony at the Rochester Convetion Center and will receive free registration and accommodations to an upcoming conference.
