Catherine Brown, librarian at Malverne High School and part-time librarian at Molloy College, recently had one of her poems selected for inclusion in the Molloy College newsletter, the school district announced.
Brown's poem had to be based on the theme of “Writing 2 Connect” and be 85 words or less. It was selected to represent the college’s acknowledgement of the National Day of Writing in October.
“I’ve always encouraged students to realize the value of writing in everyday life,” said Brown, who has been librarian at Malverne High School for 11 years.
A lover of poetry for more than 20 years, this was the first time she has had any work not only formally written out, but published.
