Malverne Parent Says State Testing Like Monty Python's 'Holy Grail' [Video]

Jeanne D'Esposito urges district officials to stop putting so much emphasis on NYS assessments.

It's no secret that most educators and many parents are not fans of the standardized testing their students are subjected to by New York State nor the increased emphasis their districts, politicians and the media continue to give them.

But few have been able to sum up their frustration with the testing craze as eloquently and comically as Jeanne D’Esposito. Tired of seeing her child, a student in the Malverne school district, come home with packets of practice tests for the NYS assessments in Math and English Language Arts, and fed up with how the "rigged" exams have devalued the academic progress made by Malverne's teachers and students, D'Esposito delivered this speech Wednesday night during the September business meeting of the Malverne school board.
