Malverne School Board Agenda: July 10

Michael Taylor will officially join the Malverne school board Tuesday night, when the is sworn in during the annual reorganization meeting.

The meeting, which will start at 8 p.m. in the  library, will be the first of the 2012-2013 school year. The board will also appoint its new president and its first and second vice presidents. They'll also approve several other appointments for the new school year including the district clerk, assistant clerk, treasurer, purchasing agents, legal counsel, auditors and insurance brokers, to name a few.

The board will vote to adopt its meeting calendar, establish committees and approve a number of other business items, which are all listed in the agenda above.

Following the completion of the reorganization meeting, the board will proceed to its July business meeting. This meeting will include a report from Superintendent James Hunderfund on the village summer recreation, Regents prep and music programs, and an update on the district's buildings and grounds.

The Board of Education will be voting on several staff appointments and contracts including one pertaining to the participation in multiple purchasing consortiums, and a legal settlement.
