Malverne School District Residents Will Decide $312K Capital Project

Board of Education adds proposition to May 15 ballot to fix roof at the high school.

In addition to the and the up for election, Malverne school district residents will also vote on a proposition for a capital project on May 15.

After determining that there was a need to undertake roof reconstruction work at Malverne High School's gynamisium, the Board of Education passed a resolution Tuesday night to add a proposition to the ballot next month. If it is approved by voters, the district would be authorized to appropriate and expend up to $312,000 from its Capital Reserve Fund, which was established by voters on May 19, 2009, to perform the necessary work.

Details about the project are described in a memorandum report prepared by the district’s architects, which is on file and available for public inspection in the office of the district clerk at no additional cost to taxpayers.
