Malverne Student Musician Selected for Prestigious Choir

Tailah Revels makes Malverne school history.

Malverne High School senior Tailah Revels has been selected to perform in the American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir.

The performance, which will take place in March 2013 in Dallas, Texas, will feature approximately 300 of the nation’s top choral high school students. Revels, an alto II, was chosen based upon a taped audition. This is the first time in Malverne history a student has been chosen for ACDA’s National Honor Choir.

A singer since she was a child, her father, Dave Revels, was the creator of Stand Up American Children’s Chorus and performs with The Persuasions as a vocalist.

“I always went to his shows and thought, ‘I could do that,’” Tailah recounted.

In addition to being selected for this prestigious choir, Revels was also named an All-State musician this year. She plans to pursue musical theater in college next year.
