Malverne Students Dominate Photography Showcase

Photography students at Malverne High School participated in the Photographic Federation of Long Island’s Fourth Annual High School Youth Showcase and placed first in three of the six categories.

Seniors Philip Leitan and John Verhun and junior Zaria Jefferson each placed first in their categories and will have their work published on the Photographic Society of America’s website, as well as in its magazine.

Their work was also displayed at an awards reception in April at the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island in Garden City.

Each of their pieces is now entered into the Photographic Society of America’s Nationwide Youth Showcase.
