Malverne Students Participate on 'The Brain Challenge'

Game show set up at Maurice W. Downing Primary School.

Students at Maurice W. Downing Primary School in Malverne tested their mental and physical strength earlier in March in a fast-paced game show called "The Brain Challenge."

The Brain Challenge team set up a “live” TV game show set at their school, complete with a host, referee, lighting, scoring and buzzer systems, microphones and countdown clock.

Students were challenged to test their knowledge, physical ability and teamwork skills in a game show format that was a combination of “Jeopardy,” “College Bowl” and “Beat the Clock.”

The red team and blue team faced off, buzzing in to answer vocabulary, math and science questions.

In between each Brain Challenge round, students were asked to participate in physical challenges that tested their talents and teamwork skills. There was even a special round in which teachers from each team faced off to answer more difficult questions.
