Malverne Students Send Valentines to Veterans

Howard T. Herber Middle School students made hundreds of cards for hospitalized vets.

To express their gratitude to those who have served in the military, students at Malverne's made hundreds of Valentine's Day cards for veterans who are currently hospitalized.

The students used colorful construction paper, glitter, markers and most importantly, well-chosen words to thank these brave men and women for their service to our country, and to wish them full and speedy recoveries.

The students assembled together last week to present the cards to Hempstead Town Councilman James Darcy, who will help distribute them.

"Thank you so much for participating each year in this program," Councilman Darcy told the students." You have no idea how much this means to these hospitalized veterans."
