UPDATED: 14 Inches Fall in Malverne-West Hempstead, Snow Day for All Students

Fourteen inches drop on Malverne and West Hempstead.

It's a snow day for students in Malverne and West Hempstead!

Residents will have to dig out of over a foot of snow that has been dropped on the area over the past 24 hours. The latest measurements - from Floral Park as of 3:45 a.m. - show 14 inches of new snow has fallen since Round 1 of the storm started Wednesday morning.

The heavy snowfall has created hazardous driving conditions, reduced service on the LIRR  and prompted ALL area schools to CLOSE. (You know it's a bad one, when even the city schools shut their doors!)
