Marion Street Fifth Grade Drama Club Perform as Pirates

Students recently took the stage in "The Pirates of the Curry Bean."

Aargh, ye mateys! With piratical style, Lynbrook’s Marion Street Fifth-Grade Drama Club recently took the audience on a swashbuckling, high seas adventure to the island of Lumbago in the Sea of Sciatica.

The cast’s rousing performance in The Pirates of the Curry Bean, written by Craig Hawes, had the audience smiling and humming along to the music. The 61 cast and crew “treasures” took directorial and choreographic direction from their “admiral” Randee Busch and “captain” Jillian Ra.

Sets were kept ship-shape by Alyse Wolber, with construction by Tom Wolber. Ms. Ra managed the 1730’s period costumes.

Exhibiting superb comedic timing, acting, singing and dancing, the cast experienced a voyage of a lifetime that brought their audience of landlubbers cheering to their feet.
