Our Lady of Peace School Holds Open House

Registration for Lynbrook Catholic school this week.

What better way to kick off Catholic Schools Week than with an open house to showcase your school? Last Sunday, Lynbrook's did just that.

From 10:30 a.m. to noon, school families, parishioners and visitors walked the halls of the school, which educates students from grades Nursery through eighth grade. Those at the open house were greeted by the school's principal, Sister Mary Dowden, and teachers, other staff, school board members, parents and other students. Seventh- and eighth-grade students gave tours of the school.

Our Lady of Peace School boasts certified and dedicated teachers, strong state test results, band and chorus programs, an award-winning marching unit, school plays and concerts, a Spanish program, computer lab and SMART boards. The school also hosts science and social studies fairs, has an enrichment program, an online library system with a full-time librarian, a school newspaper and yearbook, Service Club, Quilting Club, a middle school sports program, and after-school care.

If you liked what you saw and heard at Our Lady of Peace School's open house last week, you can register for your child on Feb. 7, 8 and 9 from 9-11 a.m. at the school. If you missed the open house, the school would be happy to give you a tour of the facility.

Our Lady of Peace School can be reached at its school office, (516) 593-4884, or on its website.
