Perfect Little Saints: Our Lady of Lourdes School Continues a Tradition

First graders at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne dressed up as saints to commemorate All Saints Day.

On occasion, a parent may refer to their child as a little devil or a perfect angel, but the first graders at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne showed they were neither of these. They were saints.

To commemorate All Saints Day (Nov. 1) and continue a long tradition in the parochial school, Mrs. Monfoletto's class dressed up as their patron saints and participated in a special service. They sang "A Place in the Sun," and performed a dance taught to them by their teacher.

Monfoletto explained that the theme this year was "A Saint for All Seasons."

"The service reflected all the seasons of the year, which incorporated the idea of following in 'good footsteps' throughout the year," she added.

Prior to the ceremony, the students also received a visit from Malverne Mayor Patricia Norris-McDonald.
