PHOTOS: West Hempstead Parents Head 'Back to School'

Parents of Kindergartners enrolled at Chestnut Street School head to class to meet their students' teachers and learn more about the educational journey they are beginning.

Parents of Kindergartners in the West Hempstead school district headed back to class Tuesday night.

They sat through an assembly in the cafeteria and filed into classrooms at Chestnut Street School on Sept. 13, where they met their son's and daughter's teacher, learned about parent groups and were prepped on what to expect as their children start their educational journeys.
