Registration Nears for Lynbrook Summer Playground Program

Sign-ups begin early next month.

Lynbrook Public Schools' Summer Playground Program is open to all village and school district children who will be entering kindergarten in September 2011 through 8th grade.

Those children attending private or parochial school, or another school district other than Lynbrook, must mail a copy of their immunization record, as well as proof of residency, with their registration.

The program will be conducted at Marion Street and West End schools and will begin Wednesday, July 6, running through Wednesday, Aug.10. Recreational activities, arts and crafts and special events will be offered everyday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The cost for the daytime program for school district residents is $150 per child, with a maximum of $300 per family. The cost for the daytime program for village residents is $180 per child, with a maximum of $360 per family.

This year, registration will take place at Lynbrook High School in the first-floor conference room on the evenings of June 6, 7 and 8 from 5-9 p.m. Registration will be held in-person only. All registration forms will be available on the Lynbrook School District website and must be filled out prior to registration. This will allow for a smooth and efficient registration process for all who intend to register for the program.

Late registration forms and fees must be mailed to "Lynbrook Summer Playground, 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, N.Y., 11563." The late-registration cost for the daytime program for all school district residents is $175 per child, with a maximum of $350 per family. The late-registration cost for the daytime program for all village residents is $210 per child, with a maximum of $420 per family.

Registration forms and additional information can be downloaded from the school district’s web-site.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
