Shoppers Find Gifts at First-Ever OLL Christmas Boutique [PHOTOS]

Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne brings together local vendors and Santa Claus for a convenient shopping experience.

A holiday wreath for mom. Chocolate with liquor for dad. Jewelry for Aunt Suzie and toys for the kids. There was something for everyone on your shopping list at the Christmas Boutique held at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Malverne earlier this month.

This was the first time the school hosted the day-long shopping event. Held on the first Sunday in December, the boutique gave locals a chance to get started on their shopping without going to the crowded malls, while also raising funds for the school. It was especially convenient for the many OLL parishioners, who stopped in after attending Mass at the church next door.

Inside the basement of the Catholic elementary school, local vendors sat behind tables displaying their latest creations. There were hand-made doll clothes, wreaths and pet rocks, hand-painted glassware and bird houses, hand-sewn winter hats and other unique crafts. Honey made by bees at the nearby Tanglewood Preserve was also up for grabs, as was gourmet chocolates, and an assortment of baked goods.
