Residents from Malverne, Lakeview, Lynbrook and surrounding areas took steps last week to stop cancer in its tracks.
They converged at the Malverne High School track on May 20 for the community's first Relay for Life to honor the lives lost to cancer, as well as the survivors and caregivers. They shared their stories of battling the disease as well as their hopes for finding a cure.
Together they raised more than $20,000 for the American Cancer Society.to watch the from the event and check out the photos in the gallery above.
