The West Hempstead School District has cancelled afternoon activities due to the impending snowstorm, the school announced on its website.
At St. Thomas School, there will be no p.m. classes.
A snowstorm is expected to slam the Long Island and New York area Tuesday, with up to 14 inches of snow expected in some areas and arctic cold temperatures across the region.
