WH Students Share Work at LI Science and Engineering Fair

Chris McAvoy chosen as a semifinalist.

Five West Hempstead High School students presented their science research at the 2013 Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF) at Crest Hollow Country Club on Feb. 12.

Chris McAvoy has been chosen as a semifinalist and will compete in the final round on March 11. His project is entitled, “Biomimetic Wind Turbine Blade Power Analysis: Airfoil Design.” 

The Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF) is one of 400 worldwide regional INTEL International Science & Engineering Fairs. It is one of the largest and most competitive regional fairs worldwide with over 400 students from more than 60 Long Island schools.
