Smart, athletic, service-oriented, hard-working and she can sing. Malvernite Maddy Connolly is more than a triple threat.

The fifth grader at St. Thomas the Apostle School in West Hempstead is among the top students in her class. She was one of the few from her grade to make the Principal's List this year, the highest honor a St. Thomas pupil can achieve.

She's no stranger to accolades though. Maddy also recently attained a Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest honor bestowed on Junior scouts. She earned it through community service and by creating a project to educate the younger Brownie Girl Scouts about the environment for Earth Day.

In addition to her brains and radiant smile, Maddy also has a beautiful singing voice, which has earned her a spot in the Girl Scouts of Nassau County chorus, an acapella performing group. They have performed at Mozart Fest, on the T.V. program "Fox and Friends" and at Citifield, where they sang the National Anthem. On July 2, they'll appear on "Fox and Friends" again for a Fourth of July-themed performance.

Her talents also include playing the piano and sports too. She is on the Malverne lacrosse and St. Thomas basketball teams.

Next year, she will be attending the Brother Fox Latin School at Kellenberg and one day she hopes to be a pediatrician.
