BELLMORE

Kennedy

Girls Soccer: After falling in the season opener to Calhoun, Kennedy (5-1-2) has gone without a loss following a 3-1 victory at Herricks on Monday. Kerri Baum, Alison Jones, Meredith Jones and Krista Trinidad scored the Cougar goals and goalkeeper Nicole Liotta stopped 10 shots.

Girls Volleyball: The Lady Cougars won a five-set thriller on the road at Roslyn. After falling behind 2-1 in the set count, Kennedy won the final two frames, 25-20 and 26-24, including a 5-0 run to cap of the victory. Jamie Demmett had 10 kills and 30 assists and Kerri Stalzer added 15 kills.

Mepham

Girls Soccer: The Lady Pirates fell to MacArthur by a 4-1 score to drop their record to 2-3-2 overall in Conference AA-I this season. Despite scoring a late goal, the Lady Generals controlled the game early with three first-half goals. Alexa Rinaudo stopped six shots in net.

Girls Volleyball: Mepham completed a clean sweep at home against Westbury, surrendering just 44 total points in the three games. Jessica Montesserato led the Lady Pirates in the serving game with 12 aces.

EAST MEADOW

Clarke 

Boys Soccer: Clarke fell to 1-5-0 overall in Conference VII following its fifth consecutive loss, the latest being a 5-1 home loss to first place Island Trees. Alex Cavanaugh scored the lone goal for the Rams and goalkeeper Matthew Schwartz stopped six shots.

Girls Soccer: Clarke remains as the only unbeaten team in Conference A-II at 6-0-2 following a 3-0 win at home against Bethpage on Monday. Nicole Wahling led the Lady Rams with two goals and Sam Goodwin had two assists. Dina Simonian added the other goal in the convincing win.

Field Hockey: Clarke topped Seaford on the road behind six first half goals to remain undefeated on the season at 4-0-3. Emma Foster, Demi Shanahan and Kristin Keller all scored twice in the dominating win. The Lady Rams have now outscored opponents 13-0 in their last two games.

East Meadow

Boys Soccer: East Meadow fell to Plainview JFK on the road by a 4-1 final score. Joe Martinico scored in the first half for the Jets, but the Hawks scored all four in the opening half as well. East Meadow stands at 3-3-2 this season.

Girls Soccer: East Meadow fell in a close game to visiting Hicksville by a 1-0 score. The Lady Comets won their first game of the year by way of a late first-half goal. Meghan Cleary collected four saves for the Lady Jets.

FIVE TOWNS

Hewlett 

Boys Soccer: Hewlett tied visiting Division 2-2 in a rain-shortened game on Monday. Luis Campas and Spencer Locke found the back of the net for the Bulldogs (5-2-1) to move into a first place tie in Conference V.

Girls Volleyball: Hewlett defeated visiting Great Neck South in four games to advance to 6-3 in Conference A-II. The Lady Bulldogs dropped the first set, but won the next three to win behind the play of Lacey Jaffe with eight kills, as well as four aces.

Lawrence

Boys Soccer: The Golden Tornadoes (3-5-1) completed a dramatic comeback at home to top Sewanhaka 5-4, scoring three goals early in the second half. Edgar Quintanilla led the way with two goals, and both Harold Ruiz and Carlos Quintanilla each recorded a goal and two assists in the win.

Girls Volleyball: Lawrence remained undefeated at 8-0 in Conference A-III this season following a four-set victory over Sewanhaka. Natalie Leger led in the serving game for the Golden Tornadoes with 18 aces and Alex Tse had 22 assists.

Girls Tennis: Lawrence dropped a match on the road to Carle Place by a 5-1 score. The Golden Tornadoes are still in search of their first win of the season.

GARDEN CITY

Girls Soccer: The Lady Trojans shut out New Hyde Park on the road 3-0 on Monday afternoon to advance to 3-2-3 this season. Addie Zebrowski scored twice and Kayla Murphy added another in the team's third clean sheet effort this season.

Girls Volleyball: Garden City had a tough time in its Monday matchup with the Conference A-I first place team, South Side. The visiting Lady Cyclones (7-2) collected a 3-0 victory to hand the Lady Trojans (4-4) their third loss in a row.

MALVERNE

Girls Soccer: Malverne/East Rockaway dominated Westbury on the road by a 9-0 score. Taylor McGinn led the way with a career-high three goals and an assist, and Karina Alvarado added two goals and an assist in the win. The team is now 4-2-0 so far this season.

MERRICK

Boys Soccer: Calhoun topped Port Washington on the road, 2-1, on Monday afternoon. Harry Davis, who scored his first ever varsity goal just two games prior, scored both for his team against the Vikings. Matt Donnelly contributed with six saves in the win.

Girls Soccer: The Colts blew out Long Beach at home by a 6-0 final to remained undefeated this season at 6-0-2. Kristina Gandolfo upped her goal total to 13 on the season with a hat trick in the win. She has now scored in seven consecutive games for Calhoun, who will play Syosset on the road next.

MINEOLA

Boys Soccer: Mineola tied Valley Stream North on the road 1-1 on Monday to improve to 6-1-1 on the season. Freshman Daniel Pardo scored in the first half for the Mustangs and Kevin Mulder finished with a season-high seven saves in the effort.

Girls Volleyball: Mineola swept West Hempstead by a score of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-18, in an away match on Monday, letting up a season-low 51 points in the three games. The Lady Mustangs remain in second place in Conference BC-I this fall.

LEVITTOWN

Division 

Boys Soccer: Division visited Hewlett on Monday afternoon and came out with a 2-2 tie to advance its record to 5-1-2 on the year. John Hauschild and Enzo Jerez both scored in the first half for first place Division.

Girls Soccer: Division topped South Side on the road by a 2-0 score in a matchup of the top two teams in Conference A-I. Alexa Schneider and Maggie Carew both scored to help the team remain undefeated at 7-0-0. Goalkeeper Gina Fader recorded her fifth shutout of the season.

Boys Volleyball: Levittown District swept Freeport on the road to move to 4-3 overall this season. Eric and Chris Pappas led the team on the day with 15 assists and 15 digs, respectively.

Girls Volleyball: Division dropped a four-set match to undefeated Lynbrook on the road on Monday. The team falls the 1-8 on the season.

Island Trees

Boys Soccer: Island Trees continued to role this season with a 5-1 win on the road against Clarke. The Bulldogs (9-0-1) remained undefeated and in first place in Conference VII. Michael Gronenthal led with four total points, two goals and two assists, and Lucas Panebianco added two goals of his own in the big win.

MacArthur

Girls Soccer: MacArthur has been one of the top girls soccer teams in the county since falling to Farmingdale in mid-September. The Lady Generals have now won four consecutive games, with their latest coming at home on Monday – a 4-1 win over Mepham. Jill Mulhulland led with a goal and two assists and Kristyn Alonzo, Kelly Kempf and Jenny Scro all put in their first goals of the season.

LONG BEACH

Girls Soccer: Long Beach could not find an answer on the road against first place Calhoun, losing by a 6-0 score. Shannon Hughes stopped eight shots for the Lady Marines, but the Lady Colts were able to score early and often in the league win.

Girls Volleyball: The Lady Marines dropped a home game to Wantagh on Monday in four sets. It was the fourth match in a row that Long Beach has come up short, as the team falls at 2-5 on the season.

LYNBROOK 

Girls Volleyball: Lynbrook continued its undefeated season with a four-set win over Division, including a 25-9 win in the fourth and final set. Kasey Keller had 10 kills at the net and Nicole Milillo led the defense with 16 digs.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE 

Girls Soccer: South Side fell behind early against first place Division on Monday afternoon and eventually fell by a 2-0 score – its first loss of the season. The Lady Cyclones stand firmly in second place in Conference A-I with a 5-1-2 overall record.

Girls Volleyball: South Side only got better after each set against visiting Garden City, collecting a 3-0 victory to advance to a 7-2 overall record, standing atop Conference A-I. Emma Paris controlled the offense with 20 assists and Kayla Principato led with 10 kills.

SEAFORD

Boys Soccer: Seaford picked up a narrow 1-0 win on the road at Roosevelt by way of a goal from Nick Interrante in the first half. Brian Graziose recorded six saves in the shutout for the Vikings. 

Girls Soccer: The Lady Vikings dropped their fourth game in a row on Monday with a 2-0 loss to visiting Wantagh. Seaford now stands at 2-6-1 in Conference A-I and will meet Lawrence at home on Tuesday.

Field Hockey: It wasn’t the Seaford Field Hockey team's day at home against Clarke, as the Lady Vikings lost 6-0. The girls fall to 2-6-0 overall in Conference I this season.

WANTAGH

Girls Soccer: Wantagh has rallied off two consecutive wins in the past week – first with a win on the road against Manhasset and then again on Monday at Seaford with a 2-0 win. Kaitlyn Kingston and Kaitlyn Cerasi each scored and Brenna Smith stopped eight shots for the shutout.

Girls Volleyball: The Lady Warriors remained undefeated on the season with a win over Long Beach on the road in four sets. Jenny Ilibassi led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs, followed by Lauren Pennino with seven blocks and 12 kills.

Girls Swimming: Wantagh defeated Plainview JFK by a 59-43 score on Monday to remain undefeated this season. The team was led by Jasmine Chu and Bimarinis in the win.

WEST HEMPSTEAD 

Girls Volleyball: The Lady Rams had a tough time in their Monday afternoon matchup at home with Mineola, falling in three sets to the Lady Mustangs. The girls drop their overall record to 3-2 this season, good for a current fourth place in Conference BC-I.
