Two local women have a shot at being on the 2014 Mets calendar for “The 7 Line,” a popular NY Mets blog.
The field has been narrowed down from 82 girls to 31. Just 12 girls will be selected for the calendar, with fans voting on the winners.
One of the contestants is a woman named Alanna Carcich, who is a bartender at the Fishery in East Rockaway, according to a post on The Fishery Facebook page.
Carcich is a Hauppauge native who currently resides in Whitestone. She she has currently received 1,355 votes in the contest.
On why Alanna should be on the 2014 calendar: ”Because I’m a fun and sporty girly girl… and there’s nothing better than being pretty and sexy while cheering on my team.”
Also in contention is Colleen K. from Lynbrook.
Colleen has been a Mets fan who 24 years and her favorite player is Mike Piazza. She has received 550 votes so far.
“I think I should be in the 2014 calendar because I am a true New Yorker, born and raised. I love the spirit, attitude, and dedication of Mets fans. Even though I was not born yet in 1986 (I came about two years later), I still feel a great sense of pride and enthusiasm for this team!”
