Lynbrook Defeats Plainedge, 42-21

Owls now 2-0 heading into Saturday's Homecoming game vs. Glen Cove.

The Lynbrook Owls continue to dominate both offensively and defensively. On Sept. 16, the Owls swooped into Plainedge Red Devils' territory and came away with a 42-21 victory.

The game's first half was played on Sept. 16, but a storm forced the second half to be postponed to the next day.

The Owls ran the ball well, breaking out for several long runs throughout the game. And on the other side, the defense continued to stymie their opponents' running game. The defense even contributed offense with two interceptions and one fumble recovery, with two of the turnovers returned for touchdowns.

The Owls (2-0) scored their first touchdown on a two-play, 99-yard drive, capped by a 55-yard run by Mike Kozlakowski.

In the 2nd quarter, after Spitzer returned a punt to the Owls' 36, running back Travis Lock broke a few tackles en route to a 64-yard touchdown run. The Owls were stopped on a 2-point conversion to make it 12-7.

Later, Spitzer intercepted a pass near midfield and ran it back for a touchdown. The Owls added a 2-point conversion to make it 20-7.

Kozlakowski added another touchdown, when he recovered the Red Devils punter's fumble and ran it back for a score.

With the Owls up 42-7 in the 4th quarter, the Red Devils would add two late touchdowns to make the final score 42-21.

The Owls will host Glen Cove on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for Lynbrook's Homecoming.
