Lynbrook Football Squeezes By Hewlett, 34-32

The Owls sit at 5-2 in conference III.

The Lynbrook varsity football team avoided an upset at the hands of Hewlett on Friday, beating the Bulldogs by a score of 34-32. 

Joe Grossi scored a game-winning 18-yard touchdown run with three minutes left to seal the victory for the Owls. Grossi rushed for 228 yards and two touchdowns, while also completing six passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. 

Dylan Lucas ran for 102 yards and two scores, while Kevin Lann had a sack and Steven Rabinovich had an interception to lead the defense. 

With the win, the Owls move to 5-2 in conference III, while Hewlett falls to 2-5. 

Lynbrook's regular season finale will be held on Friday, Nov. 1 at Division High School in Levittown. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
