Lynbrook Girls Basketball Beats South Side, 43-39
Owls will play Wantagh in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The Lynbrook girls basketball team is one step closer to a conference championship as they beat South Side in the first round of the playoffs Thursday, 43-39.
Senior Brooke Gerstman led the Owls with 18 points, seven steals and four assists. Danielle Amaya added eight points, nine rebounds and three assists, and Shannon Baker chipped in with six points and five assists.
No. 3 Lynbrook (14-4) will face No. 6 Wantagh (13-5) in the conference A quarterfinals on Tuesday at Lynbrook at 1 p.m. after Wantagh defeated the No. 11 seeded Division on Thursday, 40-36.
