Lynbrook Girls Volleyball Falls in Playoffs to Roslyn

The girls were eliminated Saturday, 3-1.

The Lynbrook girls volleyball team's dream season came to an abrupt end this past Saturday as the girls lost to Roslyn in the first round of the playoffs, 3-1.

The girls finish the season 15-3 overall in conference A-II. The Owls fell 25-11, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22.

"The first game was rough for us to get through," said coach. "I think that the girls were overly excited and nervous about the high pressure game."

The girls came back in the third game to beat Roslyn 25-18 after having dropped the first two, but would fall 25-22 in a close fourth game.

"It was a definite fight," Jeremenko said of the last game. "It was point for point for a while but Roslyn beat us. The girls did an excellent job and never gave up and that's all I could have asked for."

Although the season ended not how Jeremenko and the girls would have liked, she said they still have a lot to be proud about.

"We had an amazing season and I am beyond proud of them," Jeremenko said. "I wish all of mygood luck and wish them the best in college."
