It was a tough day for Lynbrook in a quarterfinal match-up against the higher-seeded Garden City Trojans. The Lady Owls couldn't overcome Garden City's relentless front-line attack, falling behind in each game and eventually losing 3-0.
Hero: Lynbrook Middle Hitter Kasey Keller stood out with both solid offensive and defensive play against the Trojans. The junior recorded nine kills and four blocks to keep the Owls close in each game.
Turning Point: From the first game, it was obvious that Garden City was the stronger team. They blew the game open in the early going, taking a commanding 13-3 lead. Their multiple attackers and well-placed sets wreaked havoc on the Owls.

Quote: Head Coach Natalie Hamilton — "Not to take anything away from Garden City because they are a great team, but we have a lot of young players on our squad. We had two freshman and a sophomore starting in a playoff game.
"We suffered some bumps in the road this season and its always tough losing the last game. But we will take what we learned along the way and use it for next year. There is a lot of potential on this squad."

Bottom Line: The Owls have a solid team returning and will probably be back in the playoffs again next year. They need to work on their passing and communicate with each other a little better on the court. Also, they had opportunities for kills at the net they did not take advantage of. These will be things to work on in the offseason.
