Lynbrook's New Athletic Turf Field Nears Completion

A new baseball field should also be completed soon; turf field comes in $150,000 under budget, according to assistant superintendent of finance.

Lynbrook student-athletes will soon get to play sports on a couple of brand new fields.

The school’s new multi-sport turf field at Marion Street School should be completed in a couple of weeks and has come in $150,000 under budget, according to Dr. Paul Lynch, assistant superintendent for finance.

The 2012-13 Lynbrook school budget of $74.468 million included the installation of the turf field at the school, a proposition vote which was approved by a 887-721 margin.

Also included was the relocation of the baseball field at South Middle School. The baseball field should be completed sometime in the early Fall, according to Lynch.

Football, boys and girls lacrosse and boys and girls soccer will be played on the turf field, athletic director Tom Graham told Patch.
