Malverne Football Falls to Island Trees in Regular Season Finale


The Malverne varsity football team lost in a nail biter to Island Trees in the regular season finale Friday, 13-8.

The team was leading until the third quarter, when Island Trees recorded an interception on defense and returned the ball 60 yards, setting up a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs a 13-8 lead.

The Malverne Mules previously defeated East Rockaway by a score of 22-21 in double overtime. The Mules were led by Aaron Hill, who had 105 passing yards and a touchdown, along with 122 yards rushing and a touchdown.

With the win, Malverne finishes the season 4-4 in Conference IV, while Island Trees finishes 3-5.
