The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation recently announced that the Annual Open Tennis Tournament will begin this July 1 at Hempstead Lake State Park.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 1, 2013 and continues through Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. Registration is being conducted in person through June 30 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at the Hempstead Lake State Park office, or by mail to: Tennis Tournament, Hempstead Lake State Park, P.O. Box 66, West Hempstead, New York 11552.
Entries will only be accepted during this time frame or until the 384 maximum participants has been reached.
All entries must be made on the official entry card. An entry fee, $12 for singles and $15 for doubles, must accompany all entries. Checks should be made payable to the Natural Heritage Trust Long Island (NHT-LI). The entry fee also entitles participants to a tournament T-shirt and visor. Sizes are guaranteed for registrants who apply on or before June 21st.
Trophies to be given for the following categories: singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. USLTA approved balls must be supplied by all contestants. Entries will not be accepted after Sunday, June 30, 2013.
