There's some great performers coming to a park nearest you this summer.
From classical to rock, salsa, and even a children's musical, there's something for everyone and it's all free. So grab your lawn chair or blanket and head over to these parks in Malverne and West Hempstead this July and August to be entertained.
- July 15: North Shore Concert Pops Band, 6:30 p.m., Baseball Field* (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the West Hempstead Community Support Association.
- July 17: Legendary Rock n' Roll girl group, Barbara Harris and the Toys, 8 p.m., Harold Walker Park (1085 Woodfield Rd., Lakeview) Hosted by the Town of Hempstead.
- July 22: The Swingtime Big Band, 6:30 p.m., Baseball Field* (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the West Hempstead Community Support Association.
- July 24: Walking the Line sings the hits of Johnny Cash before an "Astronomy Under the Stars program," 8 p.m., Baseball Field (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the Town of Hempstead.
- Aug. 5: Nassau Pops, 3p.m.- 4:30 p.m., gazebo (next to Malverne train station on Church Street) Hosted by Village of Malverne.
- Aug. 5: Cholo Rivera Salsa Clasica Band, 6:30 p.m., Baseball Field* (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the West Hempstead Community Support Association.
- Aug. 7: Cinderella the Musical, 7 p.m., (Foster Avenue and Motley Street in Malverne, near Westwood train station) Hosted by Malverne Merchants and Professionals Association.
- Aug. 7: Almost Queen, Queen Tribute band performs "We Will Rock You," 8 p.m., Baseball Field (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the Town of Hempstead
- Aug. 10: Malverne High School Summer Band will perform at 11 a.m. near the gazebo at in Malverne. Bring your lawn chair
- Aug. 12: New York Connection, 6:30 p.m., Baseball Field* (399 Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead) Hosted by the West Hempstead Community Support Association.
- Aug. 20: The will perform a concert at 7 p.m. near the gazebo at in Malverne. Bring your lawn chair.
