Auburn, California – Two sisters who were abandoned by their parents at an orphanage in 1948 finally were reunited.

KCRA reported that Karen and Anne Simpton were able to reconnect over Facebook and began talking over the phone.

"I always wanted a sister to dress up with, to play tea parties with. I never had one," Karen told the TV station.

Karen and Anne were among five children left at the Portland, Oregon orphanage. KCRA reported that the family is planning a long overdue reunion.

KCRA's full report is attached to this post.

I was adopted at 6 wks. of age from the Cradle in Evanston, Ill. in June 1950. I understand I was first-born of my 17 yr.old mother but always wished I had a sister or two to play with and hang with. I wish them all prayers and gifts from Heaven. And, to learn they may have an older brother and other siblings. God is good! Bless them.

Video's not working. But great story. Nice to hear some good news for a change. Hope they can find the rest of their siblings. That would make a great video and story to be shared. God Bless them and pray that they can all get together.

I am so happy for them. I always wanted a sister, too, an older sister which was entirely impossible. Growing up an only child resulted in terrible shyness that I didn't overcome until I became a teacher.
