Adoptable Animal of the Week: Friendly Pit Bull

Can you give this sweet girl a loving home?

This young, friendly female Pit Bull is looking for her forever home.

She was found in Levittown on the side of Hempstead Turnpike by an employee of in Malverne, where she has been staying every since. The staff tried for weeks to locate the dog's owner but were unsuccessful so now this sweet girl is up for adoption.

The dog is about 1 to 2 years old and has already been spayed. She knows sit, stay, and gives her paw on command. She's housebroken and walks well on leash.

This dog is very friendly, playful and great with other pets and people.

"Her temperment is 'lovey dovey,'" says a staff member at Assisi. "We haven't had her around kids, but have no reason to believe she wouldn't be good with them."

If you're interested in adopting this dog, stop by Assisi to meet her in person anytime or call them with questions at 516-256-0022.

As the owner of a lovable pit bull myself, I encourage people to open their minds to this wrongfully maligned breed. The pit bull is a wonderful dog that is often victimized by bad press caused by irresponsible owners. I hope she finds a forever home soon. Whomever adopts her will not be disappointed.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
