Bowling Green K-Kids Celebrate Outstanding Year of Service

The K-Kids won numerous awards for their projects.

At its fourth annual Retirement/Installation of officers and members, the Bowling Green K-Kids celebrated another outstanding year of service to their school, community, nation and world.

The year was highlighted by more than 40 service projects ranging from fund raisers such as a talent show benefitting Kiwanis International's Worldwide Service Project to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) to food drives to feed needy families in the East Meadow and Westbury communities.

The Bowling Green K-Kids' efforts were recognized at the local, state and international levels.

Earlier in the 2011-2012 service year, Bowling Green K-Kids Secretary Kira Gruber won the K-Kids International Greeting Card Contest in two separate categories.

The Bowling Green K-Kids also topped previous club records for most members receiving Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Awards from President Obama.

Recipients of the Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Awards were required to complete at least 100 certified hours of community service within the 2011-12 service year.
