Paying Tribute to 9/11 With Pancakes

The West Hempstead Kiwanis Club holds its annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser.

The cafeteria at West Hempstead High School was filled with families Sunday morning who came out to indulge in a delicious pancake breakfast that will benefit a special place in the community.

The money raised through admission and raffle sales through the Kiwanis Club of West Hempstead's annual event will be used to restore the 9/11 memorial at Hall's Pond Park once it reopens. Currently, the park is gated off as construction workers continue a redevelopment project.

When they are through, the Kiwanis Club plans to revamp and replant flowers around the memorial erected in the park to the victims of 9/11.
