On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 2011, veterans, their families and their fellow West Hempstead residents came together to salute the flag and continue a proud tradition.

Together they reflected on the service that local veterans and military men and women around the country have given to their country to protect the freedoms all Americans enjoy.

The annual Veterans Day ceremony was held outside the American Legion Cathedral Post 1087. Check out the photos above.
