W.H. Lions Induct New Leaders
The West Hempstead Lions Club swore in its officers and newest member.
After three years of serving as leader of the West Hempstead Lions Club, President Betsy Mandara handed over the reigns to her husband, Joseph, last week.
The local chapter of the Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club organization, celebrated its accomplishments over the past year and inducted its newest officers on June 8 during a dinner reception at Pompei restaurant.
Al Brandel, the past international president, administered the oath of office to each new board member and his wife, Maureen, also a Lion, welcomed the group's latest addition - Thomas Norton. (Yes, he is the husband of West Hempstead's famous Rosalie Norton, president of the Community Support and Civic Association and a Lion.)
