Check out some events taking place in town this week and if you see we've missed something, add it to the boards.

Monday is Labor Day, a federal holiday which recognizes the hard work and achievements of American workers. Several businesses and services will be closed, including the post office, libraries, government offices and most banks.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins in the evening of Wednesday and ends in the evening of Friday.

Reminder: The first day of school for students in West Hempstead, Lynbrook and Malverne is on September 9. Are you ready for the new school year yet?

The Malverne Board of Trustees Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall.

On Sunday, the Malverne Rotary Club will hold an installation ceremony, 5 p.m. at Uva Rossa.
