  • Wondering what's open and closed in town on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. day? Find out here.  
  • Reminder: the Malverne School District holds a PTSA meeting on Tuesday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the high school library. 
  • The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce holds an Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Honoring: Jennifer Derrig, Owner The Irish Shop, Fire Chief Edward Hynes, Inspector Ronald Fleury and Patrick McDermott. 
  • The West Hempstead School District holds a board of education business meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School Video Conference Room. 
  • The Lynbrook Library hosts a free Tuesday afternoon movie at 2:30 p.m. "All are welcome to enjoy a movie on our big screen. Movies are free and no tickets are required. Movies are intended for an adult audience only." Doors to the community room open 15 minutes prior to the  start of the movie. Call the library for movie titles (516)599-8630.
