'Photos With Santa and Your Pet' Event, Christmas Fire Truck Rides

Here's a look at what's going on this week in Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook.

• Courageous Cats Rescue and Adoption presents “Photos with Santa and your Pet” at Crossroads Farm at Grossmans, located at 480 Hempstead Ave. in Malverne. “There will be raffle baskets, bake sale, cat toys for sale and more courageous cats will have kitties for adoption and furbabies rescue will have puppies and dogs for adoption.” More info. can be found here.

• The Lynbrook Fire Department's Annual Christmas Fire Truck Rides will be held in Parking Field #8 (Earle Avenue) on Saturday, Dec. 14, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

• The Lynbrook Library holds a Holiday Open House on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. “Chef Barbara Sheridan will prepare an appetizer, entrée and dessert for a holiday party and hand out recipes. You will also be given a chance to sample all of the dishes!" Proceeds from this event go to help the homeless animals. The event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 15, 11 a.m.

• The Lynbrook Board of Education holds a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 7:30 p.m. at the high school.

• The Malverne Board of Education holds a regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 8 p.m. at the Malverne HS Library.
