The Bridge Church of the Nazarene, formerly known as Valley Stream Church of the Nazarene, was founded in 1950. The…More congregation worshiped for 50 years in an A-frame property in Valley Stream, but by 2000, it became apparent that the congregation had outgrown its small church. It launched a capital campaign, sold the property in 2004, and began leasing space at Molloy College in Rockville Centre to hold services while they looked for a future home. In 2009, the church added a second campus in Bellmore and changed its name. Finally, in the fall of 2010, the church purchased the Malverne Jewish Center property and plans to began worshiping in its new home. (The church will lease a portion of the space to the Malverne Jewish Center.)
Parishioners of the The Bridge worship on Sundays, but devote their time during the week to Bible study, community service, and local, regional and global missionary projects.
