St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel
875 Hempstead Ave, West Hempstead, NY 11552
The St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel is part of the Roman Catholic Parish, which also has a church and private schoolMore located in West Hempstead. The chapel was built in 1955 to replace the one that was demolished because it had stood on a plot of land that was needed to construct the Southern State Parkway. The chapel currently serves as an additional worship space for the St. Thomas the Apostle congregation, which holds masses here throughout  the week. The parish of St. Mary's Syro Malabar Catholic Church, formed in 2003, also uses the chapel to hold its services.
