Alex Oppenheimer is from Long Island and graduated from the University of Miami (FL) in 2009 with a major degree in Sport Administration as well as two minor degrees in Business and Fine Arts. Alex found his niche in Journalism back in Lynbrook High School, where he began covering athletics year-round. Since then, he has been involved with productions such as the Metropolitan Golf Association, the Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricane Athletics as a feature writer, the Miami Herald as a high school football writer, Major League Baseball as a highlight editor for MLB.com, and with CBS Sports as a Research Statistician and Scorer.
Alex first started writing for Patch when he began covering Calhoun High School sports and other events for the Merrick Patch in August of 2010. Since then, he has worked with several Patch websites throughout the Nassau and Suffolk County communities.
