Susan Rose, Neighbor

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Susan Rose and I've lived here in East Meadow with my husband for over 16 years, having grown up in Brooklyn. As a child of 2, my mother told the story of my love for watching the Moon and my great-grandmother chastising her for allowing me to do so. You see, back in the olden days, it was thought that gazing at the Moon would make you crazy. You see, the other name for things having to do with the Moon is Luna, hence, lunatic, or, one made crazy by observing the Moon. Although my mother never stopped me, thank God, I'm afraid that my nana was right. I am crazy, about all things having to do with the moon and astronomy. So, I'm setting out this warning that, if you follow along with me, you, too, may become a "lunatic," amongst other things.
