Greis Park Third in America’s Favorite Park Contest

With more than 158,000 votes, Lynbrook’s Greis Park currently sits in third place out of over 10,000 parks in Coca-Cola’s “America’s Favorite Park” contest.

Greis trails the first place leader, Veterans Memorial Park in Oklahoma, which has 301,885 votes. In second place is Mason Neck State Park in Virginia with 254,296 votes.

There is just one week remaining to vote. First prize takes home $100,000, with second place getting $50,000 and third place $25,000.

The park is planning a “Walk in the Park” event on Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m. By walking for the park for 20 minutes you will earn points for the park in the contest, according to Ginger Fuentes, from the recreation department.
