Victim Shot Dead in Hempstead ID’ed as Former Malverne Student
Malverne School District releases statement on former student's death.
A teen that was shot dead on a Hempstead street Wednesday has been identified by family members as Dante James Quinones, 17, a former student at Malverne High School.
Police said they are still searching for the shooters and no arrests have yet been made in the case, Newsday reported.
Quinones was not currently a student at Malverne High School and last attended the district in the 2011-12 school year, said Malverne Superintendent, Dr. James Hunderfund.

“The Malverne Board of Education and administration extend our deepest condolences to Dante’s family and friends during this very difficult time,” Hunderfund said in a release.
